Turn on ign, depress clutch and see which wire changes state when you do this either from 12v+ to ground or vice versa or from nothing to 12v+ or ground. Conect as appropriate, then try starting without depressing clutch. Gary are you going schitzoid, how can you be a Zulu and an Eskimo at once?

only the Scytek 5100RS-M is manual. They offer both versions auto and manual.

Im EVERYWHERE!  Next stop..... where ever the tornado blows me! Hopefully southern Cali.

Look for a BROWN / black on the clutch switch. It needs a (POS)+ start signal to bypass clutch.

take the start wire from the scytek and connect it to the BROWN / black @ the clutch switch. Im simple terms dont connect the start wire at the ignition. Too bad theres no toradoes where im from, so i cant end up at differant places like you :)

so i dont need any relays?
also...bmw's have separate left and right light circuits,
how can i connect my alarm so that both sides work?
i think i read somewhere that i need some kind of diodes...
how would i wire them? and what kind of diodes would i need if any?

from my understanding for the parking lights you could break the connection on the headlight switch with a relay that would take care of the parking lights. as for the clutch bypass you do not need a relay connect the starter wire (starter side) to the brown and black wire. heres a link on how to wire the relay for the parking lights hope it helps https://64.85.6.129/extrainfo/diagrams/14301_3-SERIES_BMW%20PARKING%20LIGHT%20FLASH.pdf

am not sure about that one never done it before i do it in new car like jeeps since the parking lights runs trhu data but never tried for this specific car. you can do the parking lights its really simple just follow the diagram and use a relay.

PARKLIGHTS Gray/purple & Gray / YELLOW At light switch harness   +
Left & right parklights are independent and must be isolated. See the TIP diagram.
use 2  6 amp diodes with the cathode side (the white line) away from your remote start.

This is from our friend Howie.... (poor guys internet SUCKS.)

If E36, go to hazard flasher switch and GROUND thin BROWN / blue.
If E46, pull off cover trim over lighting switch, remove 1 Philips screw and draw whole switch out towards you. Open loom wrapping carefully with a Stanley knife,
following cables:- light blue/green x 2 light blue yellow x 2  light blue brown x 2.  If one light flash (with at least 10 amp capacity) split 6 ways through 2N54xx diodes,
if 2 light flash outputs, split each 3 ways through the diodes. Don't use smaller diodes they don't have the capacity.
Regards H.

do i ground it to the chassis?
or is there supposed to be a wire from my alarm to ground it?
and which wire would i connect my +12V output from my alarm?

sorry, kinda new at all this...
thanks

Howie cant get onto 12v right now since his ISP is timing out again. He told me to mention: on the unit, change the polarity of the ouput from 12v(+) to negative.

i just found out that my alarm has a negative (-) start,
not a +12V start...
so how would i go about connecting my clutch sensor?

Posted By: tedmond
Date Posted: March 14, 2008 at 8:04 AM

cant be. all units have 12v start outputs and ADDITIONAL 250mA (-) start outputs to connect/drive relays.

if i remember the start wire from the scytek unit will be VIOLET. connect the violet to BROWN / black wire at clutch

i still cant find it...
the violet one is for door trigger input (+)...

i found an online version of my owner's manual
for my alarm...

i was talking about the VIOLET wire from the 6 pin harness which are THICK gauge wires. connect that violet to the BROWN / BLACK @ clutch switch
