I am having difficulties installing my scytek Astra 4000RS module on a 2005 chevy silverado.  I am only using it for remote keyless entry.  I have the module connected to scyteks door lock relay module and 2-wire aftermarket actuators.  So far I have power and ground connected at the brain. I have the blue and green door outputs connected to the DLRM. I have 12volts into the red and purple wires of the dlrm.  The brown and white wires of DLRM are grounded. The blue and green are connected to the actuators.  Is there some initial programming needed for keyless entry? I have everything connected....verified +12 into brain and DLRM...but still nothing.  What sort of test can I use to verify the door lock outputs of the 4000RS are working?

I successfully got the keyless entry working.  My new question is: currently the locks only activate using the keyless remote.  Can the system be easily wired so the manual door lock knob can trigger both locks?

That could have been easily done before, but to make the button lock the other doors now........I think you'd pretty much have to pull everything out and start over.

They sell complete power doorlock kits. Basically a wiring harness, a little control box. (Similar to, but a little different from the relay pack you're using now.)

The actuators that are for the front doors have five wires instead of two. The three extra wires are to "tell" the control box when one actuator is being moved by hand, so it can command the other(s) to follow.

But, since you've already done the installation, that's probably not practical.

You could buy the correct type of switch, and install it wherever you want. You're looking for a switch that's single pole, double throw, center off, momentary.

The switch should have three terminals. You'd just ground the center terminal, and connect the two other terminals onto the lock and unlock outputs from the remote starter.

You could put one switch in the center of the dash, or mount one in each door, or wherever you want.

They also did make a version of the Silverado that had power locks, but no power windows. There weren't too many, but I think I've seen one before.

Maybe you could get the factory switches, either from the dealer's parts department or a junkyard, and install them in your truck for a nice factory look.
