What polarity turns on the dome light? Positive or negative? Then after you figure that out strip a small section of that dome light wire and apply either 12+ or ground and see if it illuminates the dome light. You may need to trick the car to think the door is closed. If it has a pin switch push in while testing and if it is latch based then use a awl to push in the latch like when you close the door. Just don't forget that you have done this or you may try to shut the door and slam it into a closed latch causing possible damage to the lock mechanism.
After you test then you hook up relay accordingly.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

The door trigger wire in vehicle will turn on the dome light as well.
All Door Trigger     WHITE     (-)     SMALL HARNESS BELOW ASHTRAY
