I finished my install in an 06 Chevy Silverado 1500 (non classic) and when I activate the remote start it cranks, fires, and dies immediately. With the key in the ignition and in the ON position, everything works fine. I'm using the XK01 Bypass Module which seems to be working fine since it unlocks/locks/senses all doors. Any ideas?

Just verifying, this is the old body style, and not the one that's being sold right now?

If the XK01 is doing all that it doesn't sound like a firmware issue; I would check your ground-when-running(status) wire connection.

Yes, the body is different than the one being sold now. I couldnt find concrete evidence to what wire to connect the ground when running, so I followed information on this form, which was "blue status output on the little 4 pin harness on the relay pack". It seems to ground when I remote start the car...

did you verify you have the XK01 programmed for the correct platform?  and did you program the XK01 after wiring it up?

Theres a good chance I programmed it too soon... Its programmed to  type 4 but I cant seem to figure out how to reprogram it again. How do you reset this thing? I do what the instructions say but nothing happens except the led turns red each time i press the program button.

I disconnected the cable and reconnected and tested it that way too and the LED stays red apon power up like its suppose to but then when turn the key to ON like the instructions say the LED blinks 4 times and goes off.

Also, since it works with the key on, but not with the key off, test that all of your ignitions and accessories are being powered up by the remote starter.

Test that the pink and the white are receiving power in Run AND Start.

Test that the orange is receiving power in Run ONLY.

Test that the yellow is receiving power in Start ONLY.
