Does anyone know if the remote for the RS1000 can be charged using a powered USB port on a PC. It comes with a wall charger but it's more convenient for me to use my laptop.

Yes it can. That is the way I charge them whenever I install one so that I don't have to open the charger.

I have it charging on the USB now.
