hello guys,
I'm loooking to purchase a car starter.

I'm looking for something at a reasonable price and I was wondering what is your experience with ebay alarms/starters?

I am looking at the CX-2300x starters. I believe they are branded as "Carvox".

Do you have experience with those? They quote a crazy range of 9000ft.

any feedback is appreciated

9000 ft sound a little outrageous to me, but, I also am not familiar with that brand. ive been installing security and remote starts since 1998 and feel that the best product out there as far as installability, function, reliability, and ease of use for the customer or end user is anything made by DEI.

I would advise to stay away from cheep ebay starters, they often do not have someone to go back to if there is anything wrong.
I installed a very similar looking starter for a guy last year - but the brad was "Motojoy". The install manual was terrible, I wound up powering it up on the bench and testing over half of the wires.
Stick with the major brands, you will be much happier.
Yes, DEI makes good units, but there are others as well.
I install UltraStart, Scytek, and the occasional Prestige and Clarion.

Brent I don't think DEI or more specifically Clifford are what they were, I'm looking at Prestige/Code and Compustar, N.B I've never watched Notting Hill though I was brought up in that neighberhood.
