Installed a Prostart CT 3400 TW in a Buick Century-2004 last winter but never got it to work,now its getting close to winter again so going to try to get it going, First Im not going to need the door,trunk or anything else,just the remote start/stop, so I didnt see any need to wire in any of the 12 wires that are on one plug,I just used the 6 wire plug and the 5 wire plug,also of course the antenna wire plug, I can do this ,cant I? or do I need some of these wires in the 12 wire plug to make just start and stop work? I did the resister thing in the two white wires and the car starts with the key, no problem,I have checked and rechecked and of course checked a couple of more times of my wireing and its wired according to the diagram,I did flash the "hood pin", but cant get the transmitter to program and as a result cant enter the programming options, The only thing I see is that on the  6 wire plug there is a green wire,didnt have no place to put it so just left it not connected to anything.Is this wrong? The light on the antenna comes on for a second or two when I flash the hood pin but otherewise is off. Just cant seem to get any programming to work, any suggestions on how to test the module or do something with the green wire if need be. Im at a loss,

I have done a few of these units. make sure you follow the programming of the transmitter exactly. I found when you are flashing the hood pin, after you hold the pin down and release it, just tap the pin IMMEDIATELY AND as QUICK as you can. I can remember doing these and like you could not get in to programming unless I just barely tapped the pin, and also right after you release it in the previous step. Not sure if that is the issue but give that a try

OK,tried that many times,did get the antenna light blinking,also when programing transmitter lights flash 5 times like supoosed to, cant get any program options to come up on the remote screen,when i press start, lights flash,the module cliks but the starter never will turn, problem I think is cant get into the programming, also checked all the wires for current according to specs and all wires ckeck out.

Where does the tach wire hook to, I got it hooked to the white wire on end of the coil pak but it only has .1 V and the book says it needs 1.8 volts.

You need to connect the green wire of the 6 wire harness to the vehicle's Ign2 wire ( should be white or green ). You also need to do a tach learn before you could remote start the car. Use the following procedure to do a tach learn

                      1. Make sure all the connections are done properly and that the Module has been powered-up.

2. With the Hood up (ground on the Hood Pin line), start the vehicle using the key.

3. Let the Engine reach proper idle speed.

The Parking Light output from the Module is activated when the vehicle starts and it will shut off once the Tach signal is detected.

4. Press and hold the Brake Pedal until the Parking Light output from the Module flashes 5 times.

5. Turn the Ignition off. At this point, the Tach setting has been programmed.

So where do I conect the tach wire on a 04 Buick Century?

I think you had the right tach wire. Like I said, do a tach learn first, if it is successful, you will get a respond of 5 flashes from the parking lights. If not, you can try the injector wire, use the odd color wire.

Guess the only thing left to try is hook up the green wire.

Update- I connected the "green" wire and iit works, thanks for the replys.
