it''l be at the switch, you'll need to determine if it's positive or negative.

its a black wire in the drivers side running board harness you will need a relay

it will test positve 12 when pushing the trunk release on the factpry key fob

IT IS NOT A POSITIVE TRIGGER WIRE DO NOT CONNECT POSITVE DIRECTLY

85 neagtive trunk

86 12v

87 12v

87a side towards front of vehicle

30 side towards trunk (rear of vehicle)

also if your doing this vehicle you can use pulse after to shut off parklights after shutdown

use a pulse after or rearm wire connected to the drivers door pin

if you dont you run the risk of draining your battery

I'm in the same situation and I'm fairly new at this kinnda thing. Would I be able to connect the output wire to the black wire without relay? And can someone explain in details on how with or without the relay. I would really appreciate it.

you cannot. you must use a relay. the above post explains it as clearly as possible.

It's a thin black wire in the drivers kick.

It's reverse polarity.

Thank the lord Craig, at last someone who wires relays in the Euro convention, I was always taught to use 86 as the coil + side ...like it matters, happy New Year to you , KTM and C Keeler

Happy New Year to you all too, there is some kind of documentation that says 85 is ground. I always try to use it as ground, but this time I simply converted Shaip99's text into graphic form. So they must do it like that in Canada too. Sounds like a good project for the new year, standardize the industry so everyone uses 85 as ground. We are almost done, and we are just over 6 hours into the new year.

Ta Craig, when the Germans first used that relay casing, in the early 70s they always used 86 as the plus side and 85 as the ground side of the coil, let's use 87b relays and really confuse the novices (single pole, 2 x diode sparated outputsthink og a 4 pin, 30 the source or input and 87 and 87b  as separate internally dioded outputs, side lights, indicators etc.

This isn't the sheet that I initially saw it on, but the info is in the order of the earlier.
