I purchased on 03 Tahoe that already had remote start installed.  This thing starts on its own all of the time.  I've found it running in the garage at 3 am before.  This can't be normal.  Other then the remote, what sets these devices off?  During a recent power outage, my home generator ran for 5 days straight.  During that time, I bet I had to turn off my car 10 times while it was parked in the garage.  Any ideas?

Most remote start systems have a timer mode that will start the vehicle every few hours to keep it warm in extremely cold weather.  My guess is that this feature is activated on your vehicle.  Can you provide anything in the way of a manufacturer or model number?  perhaps we can help you out with your issue

Until you can get this issue resolve, I would suggest at LEAST pulling the fuses from the remote start.

You don't want to wake up dead. The exaust WILL kill you!
