i found the worst thing was getting the key cylinder you need to disassemble half the dash to get at it and you need to be comfortable with soldering small wire and joints besides that its not to bad

Of course locks can be done on any vehicle without a module, but who would want to on some of them? thats more work than its worth sometimes and the price of a module is so cheap and worth it at that point thats its just silly not to use one. on this vehicle im not sure though what system it has.

if its the same body style as an 2007 it should just be a 1 wire system that uses negative trigger through resistors. if its a different body style in 08, then im not sure what system is has. i havnt done one yet.

I dont know colors, but I was searching for parts for an 98 gr. cherokee and found an easier way to work with the ignition. it basically screws into the factory ignition and adds a plug to make wire connections easier... no soldering required. I dont remember which bypass it was, but check out bypasskit.com and xpresskit.com.

The door locks are controlled via canbus. You must use a module to control the door locks.
