Installed a 790xv that I pulled off my older vehicle. Everything Works fine except for 2 issues.

1.) I have an xk05 (pkt2) transponder unit, hooked up the wires IAW the instructions (IMO(pink) / IMI(Black) wires) I traced the wires from  from pins 29 & 40 of the ECU back to the white plug in the pass kick panel. I went through the programming procedures, the led is solid when ignition is turned on, goes out after a second once vehicle started. I assumed is is programmed after that, but when I try to remote start it it just cranks continously. Tried restting unit with the same results.  I can just insert the key in the ignition and it picks up the key and starts. Just want to verify am I missing something or do I have a bad unit?

2.) Second issue, is with the 790xv, once remote start is activated and shut down via remote, brake or timeout, the domelight  automatically comes on in the tundra  which triggers the domelights and the alarm thinks the door is open.  I  attempted the domelight supervision and bypass notification programming with the same results. Is there a way around this?

1. Pain in the ass as it is, your best bet is just to connect the XK05's data wires right at the PCM under the hood to ensure you've got the right pin position, and use a different bypass on the next Toyota you do.

2. Use the individual door trigger wires, diode isolated(mentioned in this post if you don't have them.) Or if you've got a door ajar indicator on the dash that would probably work as well and not be affected by the domelight.

Separate door triggers is the proper way to go. This happens on the 4runner also, but on that if you don't connect the accessory wire to the RS it stops the lights from coming on. All functions in the truck still work except radio this way during RS. You may try it in the Tundra to see if it is the same...

I have the same vehicle with the same problem right now.  I connected my wires at the ecm on the passenger side firewall and all I can get out of it is a solid crank and never turning over.  It seemed as if the xk05 programmed but still the same problem.  I even reset the unit and now I can't get it to reprogram.  Someone Help Please!!!!

I don't mean to be an arse, but there are much easier units to use than that which will actually work better. Check the thread going right now on Toyota bypasses...
