it's an astroflex 1100 in a 2002 dodge ram 1500, it was installed about 5 years ago.

I worked out of the country for a few months, and when i came back my battery was dead, after having the battery replaced the remote start wouldnt work properly.  It only starts only when my climate controls are off. when i have my heater fan on, it doesnt start, and i just get code #2(outputs overloaded, or bad ground).  i checked the ground and fuses, everything looks ok.  I think i do remember over the years there was a few times when its done something similar, it wouldnt start with the fan on full blast, but it always started when it wasnt on the highest setting, and that only happened a couple times.

i'm stumped, anybody got any ideas for me?  any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your unit gives a code #2 because it lost power when it come the time to power up every circuit. When the fan is ON it require more power to the unit and fail.

Only 3 possible causes:
- Bad fuse: be sure to LOOK at them not just mesure them. If one is blown and you only mesure them, you'll have 12v on both anyway because the voltage feed back from the other power wire.
- Bad ground, ground wire broken
Bad unit due to jump start
