I have installed a hornet alarm system with parking light flash It said In the manual to attach white fused wire to the pos. wire of your parking light pos. wire which is brown on my 1984 chevy blazer. When I arm & disarm

system I can hear something click once when armed & click 2 times when disarmed but lights dont flash

anyone got any ideas what problem is

the clicking that you are hearing is the internal relays inside the unit.  have you tested the suspect ground wire to make sure it is indeed parking lights?

Yes I'm sure I have the right Wire I have the factory wire diagram the all the parking lights use the same brown wire. I did splice into brown wire that leads from headlight/parking light switch. Could this be the problem?

Should I have spliced into it after the fuse box?

have you tested it with a multimeter? if you didn't you should because wiring diagrams lie often. make sure the light flash jumper is in the right position on the brain itself

Factory diagrams don't matter.

Proper installation is to test every wire that you connect to for proper operation.

true, true^^^^^. and if you "know" that you have the right wire(because of course you tested it with a DMM)  then take a fused lead (fused with a low amperage fuse like a 5 amp fuse) and connect 1 end to the suspect wire and the other end to 12v. the parklights should come on if it is indeed the correct wire.

Got it working had the right wire just had to splice in under the hood after main fuse pannel under dash. And

yes I did use a meter to check for right wire. Before I even posted this

I apologise if you thought the two guys above but they gave you the standard answer. I've been installing electrical goodies since the early 70's. the first rule is follow but DON'T trust car or alarm manufacturer's wiring info! The second rule is TEST EVERYTHING before connecting. Those two gentlemen are highly rated professionals and are only offering you good advice.
