09 camry remote start

Ok guys you bailed me out once before with my Tacoma so now i got one for ya on an 09 Camry. We put remote start on 2 of them this week and the problem we are having is the headlights stay on if you remotely turn it off. The reason is because the headlights are designed to cut off 30 secs after the driver door is open but with no one around the car then the door doesnt open. We use scytek remote starts so theres no programmable output. Any help or suggestions. Thanks yall, Jon

is there a factory alarm arm (or rearm) wire on the scytek? connect it to the toyota's door trigger

Yes, you need a pulse after turn-off to trigger the drivers door pin switch. If there is an alarm what i do is add a relay to the auto-lights to make them stay off altogether as pulseing the door will trigger the alarm. The auto-light wire is the 3rd wire from the left on the headlight switch...

Down low in the driver's kick panel, in the lowest plug, the driver's doorpin wire is blue. It's the only blue wire in that plug, but you should still test it, of course.

I'm not 100% positive about this, but the light should turn off eventually. It may take 10 minutes or something like that, but it is rare that you would remote start and not go out to the car. I break the Green power wire to the headlights myself like Mike M2 said, I ahve tested it though on an 05 and 07 I did recently, and the lights turn off eventually anyway.

I did one of these like a month ago and had the same problem. I wish I could be of more help but all I remember is that there was something with the ignition wires that makes the car think it's running. it's not flashing the door pin, there's something with the ignition wires. check them and see where you get. hopefully you can get it and post here what it was so I can go "oh yeah!"

Find the green auto light wire at the light switch connector on the column. break this wire with a relay triggered by pulse after shut down.

we tried to break the circuit on the auto light wire with the rearm pulse but the timing was too short and it wouldnt catch in time. Think we are going to just break the auto light wire with the relay and tie it into the ignition 2 of the remote start and isolate that from the cars regular start so the whole time its in remote start the lights wont be on but once the ignition is taken over with the key and the remote start drops out of the circuit then the lights will come back on as normal. It'll work fine, done it many times this way using the statis output to trigger the relay...
