What are the better car security products?  I was looking at Marksman but there are a lot and there doesn't seem to be many distinguishing factors among them.

I have worked with quite a number of the alarm manufacturers out there. I have to say from personal experience that the alarms made by DEI are the most reliable. They also tend to have more options than most any other brand out there. However, at times they can get tricky to program and work with on certain vechicles which calls for tech support. I am not sure how well the DEI techs work with consumer installers. I would add that I have recently worked with a lot of Crimestopper alarms and remote start systems, and would like to add that they are very reliable as well, and personally seem to be more installer friendly to me.

I personally have the Python 1500ESP remote start alarm installed on my 97 Explorer now. I have looked into changing to a Crimestopper alarm, mainly for the fact that is what I carry as far as alarms, but they just dont have an alarm with the contol that I want (most remote start models only have 1 extra output). I will probably end up going with a different DEI alarm if I ever change.
