hi. I have big problem with my starter. I bought it on ebay: https://cgi./ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=...

It was working fine for 2 months. tach wire was connected to test connector. (2001 accord). couple days ago, I started it in the morning as usual, went to my car and I noticed loud noise coming form my engine. The car's starter was engaged all the time. It stopped as soon as I pushed brake pedal. Now when I try to remote start the car it starts perfectly and then it re-engage the started and it stays on during the engine runing. It is strange becouse when I disconect the tach wire it will start run for 3 sec and shut off the engine and tries again. I triend to re-learn th e tach signal but it cannot find any signal.

Anyone could help me with that problem.
thanks

You could try disconnecting for about half minute then reconnect and reprogramme, if this fails, chuck it. Why oh why do people buy electronic equipment off flea bay?

Ouch.... ebay and electronics

Have you verified the tach reading on the "blue wire"?

Yes.  blue wire still have the same signal as it has when I installed remote starter. 5-8v depending on the rpm. Starter also have oilsence wire. Maybe I could use it instead of tach

I'm with the others here, get rid of the cheap unit and get a remote start from a respected name.

Other then that, the only thing I can think is to try to reset the system and relearn tach.  I think it is very strange that with the tach removed it won't continuously crank the starter but with it connected it will - it's almost like the tach signal is too low.

That may be something worth trying - remote start the vehicle, while you are in it, and as soon as you hear the starter dragging give the car a little bit of gas and see if the higher RPM causes the starter to shut off.

If it does, you may want to try doing the tach relearn procedure when the motor is warm and idling low.

Ok, I did one more thing. And still, its very strange. There are 2 wires that can detect if the engine is running. one is TACH/VOLTAGE SENSE and 2nd is OIL/ALTERNATOR SENSE. I disconnected tach wire and connecter the other one to alternator. Starter is doing the same thing. It start normally but after couple seconds in engage starter and it stays engaged all the time.

As i said is very strange because when I disconnect sense wires remote starter will start for 3 sec, stops the engine and repeats the start procedure, ACC, IGN and starter. tries 3 times and the gives up.
But with sence wires connected its doesnt stop engine, just engage starter and leaves it engaged all the time.
