Hey Guys,

I'm going to start my alarm install next week and was wondering where I can by primary hook-up wire by the foot in various colors (red, brown, orange ect) strictly by the foot?  I don't want to have to buy 25 foot or more spools when all I need is 5 feet of this color and 10 feet of that color and so on.

I'm mounting the brain in the rear under a plastic interior panel and needed to solder enough lenght to get to my sensors and other connections at the dash.

I know I can just use any old wire and color doesn't matter, but I'm kind of anal and want this to be as close to factory as possible.

I searched the internet and couldn't find a place that sells wires like this, any help?

I would take a page from Howies book on this one - use ALL black wire.

If you think about it, using all black wire will make the installation more secure - which I'm guessing is why you are mounting the brain in a non tradional location.

If you really want to buy some wire by the foot shoot me a PM, I have spools of high quality 20awg stranded wire in red, black, yellow, green, blue, orange, gray, white, brown, and purple.  As long as you don't need crazy amounts I would just expect you to pay shipping.

Other then that, you may try a local shop, but they will probably try to charge quite a bit per foot.

Local car audio shop. Maybe a small, mom-and-pop auto parts store. Hardware store. Or cut wires out of cars at the junkyard.

You can get smaller 10ft rolls at the parts stores easy enough. To run it from the back you'd need that or more anyway of each color you want to use...
