I installed a prostart along with a DEI 556lw in my 97 Sunfire. The problem I am having is getting the 556 to learn the resistance. I followed the book on how to program it cycle the key on off 2 times then start them car. The status led on the 556 doesn't blink like it's suppose to it just stays on. This is how I wired the 556 in brackets is where I wired the harness to on the car.

GREEN/ BLACK—(not used)
BLACK/ WHITE—(-) bulb check (black wire in black connector on left side of key cylinder)
BLACK—Passlock ground (Ground)
PINK—(+) ignition (Pink ignition wire)
BLUE—(-) status input (Ground when running on Remote Start)
VIOLET—(-) crank input (to ground through relay on start wire)
RED—(+) 12V (constant 12v)
WHITE—(not used)
YELLOW—key side resistance in (yellow passlock wire key side)
WHITE/ YELLOW—(not used)
BLACK / YELLOW—vehicle side resistance out (yellow passlock wire vehicle side)

If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated this is my first time doing a remote start but I'm not new to electrical.

VIOLET—(-) crank input (to ground through relay on start wire)

start wire coming off of the harness is a postive output. you got a positive crank output going into the bypasses negative crank input.

I have a relay on the start wire which sends the violet wire to ground while the engine is being started
