customers with factory immobilisers have frequently asked if there keys could be copied (not knowing of the factory immobiliser present) until we made them aware, so we goggled it and found a machine that allegedly clones the transponder keys, the machine uses specially made keys of course, the owner of our company is about to order one with the specially made keys, so i just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this or done this before. or is this all sounding like greek posted_image

Ta Darren, I understood you perfectly, I think you also need to know how each make of vehicle programmes it's keys, such as ignition on-off 15 times, make a cup of tea*, repeat, push brakes twice etc.  *Just in case you forgot I was in the UK.

From what i understand you don't need to program the key to the vehicle.

A cloned key sends out the same info that they key you programmed it from.

Only downfall is that you can't use cloned key to program a bypass module to a vehicle that requires two keys to program .

Reason being is that the vehicle sees both key as the same ones.

You might want to start by finding some automotive locksmithing forums.

Many of us here in the US buy blank transponder keys from www.howardkeys.com and www.hlflake.com.

Both of those sites sell some of the equipment to program transponder keys. It might be worth looking at what they sell.

There is some good info here. There are both cloning machines and originating machines, so depends what you want to do.

I was looking at doing the same thing. But I haven't made any decisions yet.
