Trying to wire a bypass into my Pontiac Aztek 2004.  I have the Xpresskit XK06 with firmware PKG7.  The instructions do not list any of the wire colors I have.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what my pass key looks like.  Has 2 Violet, 1 BLACK/ White, 1 Pink and 1 Orange.  The back of the key cylinder has two wires a light green and and tannish colored wire.

Think I may have figured this out.   Think I need to reflash it to firmware PKG5 V3.00.  If anyone can confirm this please let me know.  Thanks.

Been awhile since i used the xk loader...But doesnt it have you put in year,make,model...Then gives you the firmware to flash...Do you have the loader...? If you have a spare key...You can always use a universal bypass...? Will see if i can find which firmware to use...And i dont think you are going to touch the wires on the pass-key unit in car...I believe all that is done via the violet data wire...Soooo...Power,Ground,Ground while running,And data(pin2 of diagnostic plug...)is all you need... And depending on what remote start you are using...All but data wire connection can be achieved with D2D harness...

Don't have the loader yet, had to order one.  I'm pretty sure you are right on the wire connections.  Let you know once I receive the loader.  Thanks!

Whats the default firmware on those units...? You might be ok...Think i still have one on the shelf...Will look tomorrow...But normally it is marked on the face of the xk06...the box is usually marked filled in w/ default firmware

I've always heard bad things about the XK06, including draining batteries on cars that don't get frequently used.

Plus, an aftermarket PK3 key and universal bypass box are usually cheaper anyway.

But, as far as those wires:

The two pin with the tan and green:
Tan: should be ground
Light green:   should be negative keysense.

The other plug:

Orange should be constant.
Pink should be ignition.
Black should be ground.
The two purple wires should be data. Not sure which data wire(s) you'll need to connect.
