I put a viper 791vx in my 1999 Ranger a few years back. At the same time I installed the window module and backup battery. A few months ago the remote start stopped working. I just lived with it because I hardly used it but now I kinda want it back.

Anyways... I ripped the dash back apart and check everything I could think of. When you trigger the RS it cycles through but wont actually crank. If i hold the key next to the ignition switch it (in sense bypassing the transponder) still nothing. It is only when i turn the ignition to ON will it remote start.

I took a DMM to the satellite relay to make sure i was getting 12v and I was. The only thing that seemed weird was the Ignition Output ( i think its pink but don't remember off the top of my head) was jumping from 0 to 3 volts at crank. I dont know what that line is supposed to read but it seemed odd to me. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you checked the fuses at the xcrs, not to seem obvious, lol. Also check the pink trigger wire of the ribbon harness to verify if it's signalling ground to trigger the ignition relay in the xcrs.
