Hope someone can help me here... I installed a Viper 5301 & XK01 on my 2006 Trailblazer EX with D2D cable between the two. I followed the below Wire hook-up configuration. I found one problem which is H3-3 orange from viper they say to hook up to a ORANGE / brown wire @ ignition. There is not such a wire and looking at the specs, I have a orange and a brown. I tried connecting to just the orange. Everything seemed to be fine, starts with no problem... then I realized that the blower (heat or A/C) was not coming on, although the radio etc seems to be fine. SO I switched the H3-3 to the ignition brown wire.. same problem no heat or AC fan. In doing this I also realized the check engine light comes on with about 10 codes when remote started. If I clear the codes and start with Key no problem. I assume this has to do with accessory's not coming on (like my fan) properly and it is triggering the codes. I really appreciate any help someone can shoot my way.

Thanks....

RED / Black MUST be hooked up to 12 V...... it powers the ACC circuit.....the orange from the Viper goes to the orange ACC wire in the vehicle.... i personally have never hooked up the brown 2nd ACC and never had any issues, but if you feel that may be why your HVAC controls are not powering up then you can add a relay and power it as a 2nd ACC.....

Thanks... RED / Black solves the HVAC issue. I still get check engine light come on when remote started. Its got 6 codes I did not right them down.. but I remember something about celinoid and some pressure ones.

they may have been "hard codes" related to your first problem... they may go away after X times of cycling the IGn or else they may need to be cleared with the Tech II......

well, If I clear them out and only use key start the check engine light stays out... no problems. Then if i remote start it comes back on.. then I have to clear it out so that I do not have to look at it..haha.. I was trying to reset the xk01 thinking maybe it would just start working again but now that its programmed to the truck im not sure I can.

yes, you can reset the XK01  and then relearn it... follow the instructions that came with the XK....

would it hurt to split the orange wire from the viper to feed both the orange and brown at the ignition?

there should be a negitive output on the remote start system for a 2nd acc output   you would need to use a relay for that    spliting ing or acc wire inst good they are seperate for a reason

i have never had to power up the brown wire on a trailblazer it only feeds the windows and radio circuit. do you have both main ignitions powered? ( pink and white @ign switch) do you have all 3 heavy fused constant hots wired up to constant 12volts? you didnt accidentally program 2nd ign(pink/white)to be off during crank(as an accessory wire) did you

haha, well Ive been trying multiple program changes and It wont even start now. I hear the unit clicking... 4 light flashes after I tell it to remote start.. I obviously screwed up the programing now.

turn the key on, press valet 1 - 2 - 3 and 4 hold will put me at three beeps (which is reset unit) then just turn the key off.. is that right? Directions do not say anything after select the program, I assume exiting the program mode by turning key off saves it.

I tried to set the 5301 back to default factory settings but it doesn't seem to save. Ill give it a try again tomorrow or I will manually go through each setting and make sure its at option 1. If that doesn't work Ill pulling the whole thing out and starting over...lol... maybe I should have gotten it installed. haha
