Hello,

I am trying to install an Autopage RSTKE-900 Remote starter on my 2001 Ford F-150 Supercrew 5.4. I am planning on taping my spare key inside of the steering column instead of using a bypass module. I only want to use it for the remote start feature, as I want to hook up the least amount of wires. I will just continue to use my factory remote for the doors. I hooked up the ignition wires, power, ground, antennae, valet switch, but what other stuff do i need to hook up? It talks about different wires for things like grounded when armed, grounded when disarmed, neutral safety, hood switch, tachometer sensor, etc. What kinds of shortcuts can i take that will save me the trouble of having to hook some of these wires up? Can i just ground them somewhere, or hook them up to power, or whatever needs to be done??

https://documents.audiovox.com/700665.pdf ... If your truck is started with the key...Does your factory keyless still work...?? If not...Time for a couple more wire...! Honestly...That is a nice truck...and a nice unit...Stop looking for shortcuts and do it right...! Grounded when armed is for bypasses etc...Hook up hood switch...so if you or your hands are under the hood...the truck doesnt start...Im sure at the very least the mechanic would appreciate keeping all his fingers...Yes...hook up tach...! Does that defitnely have a chipped key...Does it have a door at the top of the key...If so...I would recommend hot glue gun...No tape...And remember to remove all of the other keys chips...And you just lost a step of security...But anyway...Good Luck...Sounds like you should have got a starter that works off factory remote...or a 1 button start only...?!
