Ok I have a question I am sure has been covered but I am having a hard time picturing how to wire it. I have a 1992 Acura Integra 5 speed I have a Viper 5901 and plan to use the remote start but also want the starter kill. How do I wire this?

the thing ism even if you have a starter kill on the integra, the car can still be push started. If you want some sort of theft deterrant, your better off doing an ignition kill, but if that relay does die out on you while your driving, that can cause some serious problems.

but this will work for start or ignition kill. take a relay

85 - ground when armed from alarm/rs
86 - ignition

cut ignition or start wire in half
87a - ignition or start wire (key side)
30 - ignition or start wire (car side)

So how do you wire this with a remote start? Do I just wire the starter output and input to bypass this relay?

if you hook up the starter output, it will act as an anti-grind for the starter wire. Other than that you wont be using that wire for this purpose. What you want to look for is the GROUND WHEN ARMED (locked) wire. in your install guide it might show up as anti-grin/ground when armed output. I dont touch dei stuff that often, i did a 871xv, and the wire colour was ORANGE / BLACK.

however, i am not sure if the new modules still use the xcrs relay packs that have a starter kill built in.

Let me see if I can make this question easier:

85Orange on Alarm (Ground when armed)
86Pink on Alarm (Ignition)BLACK / YELLOW from car
87NOT USED
87aGreen on Alarm (starter input)BLACK/ White switch sideCUT THIS WIRE IN 1/2
30Violet on Alarm (starter output)BLACK/ White car sideCUT THIS WIRE IN 1/2

Is this what it will look like so I will have 2 wires to 86/87A/30 instead of just one or am I making this too complicated?

hey, no need for the relay, since the unit does it for you.

just cut the start wire in half. connect VIOLET to the end thats going towards the engine and connect the green to the wire towards the ignition cylinder. now you have a starter kill/antigrind built in. no need for the additional relay

Hey thanks for the information. The manual confused me since it said car side of starter kill but you cleared it up

If you read the manual you would see that there's already a built in starter/anti-grind cut, green and violet are the key side and starter side outputs. Follow Tedmund's advice, especially about ignition failure, he is very good.

Sorry all I have at this time is the instillation manual and I didn't see anything in there where it mentioned it had a built in starter kill
