Well I've searched for this quite a bit without anything directly helping me, close but not directyly.  Installed a "Responder One" 4203P in the wifes '04 GX470 today (does NOT have Smartkey.)  Used a Fortin KEY-OVERIDE-SL2 for the transponder.  So basically everything works as it should, sort of, but I don't want it to is the thing I guess.  I did NOT hook up the locks to the 4203P, hoping/intending (but realizing likely they wouldn't) they would still work off the remote/fob built into the keys.  So autostart works fine, transponder works fine, and just as intended by Toyota of course, the built in fob won't unlock the doors when the remote start is running, because it thinks there is a key in the ignition.

Can anyone tell me my work around here folks?  I'll probably hook up the locks to the 4203P to see if that hot wires past (which I figure it might) but I really still want to use the Lexus built in fobs for the lock/unlock, and only use the 4203P remote for start.  I've seen allusions to this being done on here, but no specific instructions applicable to a non Smartkey vehicle.  Can I unhook the keysense wire from the Fortin, do I need to hook an alarm arm or disarm wire from the 4203P up to the same?  (Currently I have no "alarm" wires from the 4203P hooked up, nothing hooked to keysense (GREEN/ YELLOW with silver hatch) except the SL2's green wire.)

Much thanks in advance.  No I'm not a "professional" unfortunately so DEI isn't going to help me out here, but I was a "professional installer" 20 years ago so I figured I wasn't going to pay $700 (going price here in AK for this system installed) when I could get it for $150 off the bay.

A lot of Toyota's lock out the keyless system when the ignition is on. I don't know of a way of bypassing it. I think your only solution would be to use the r/s system for keyless as well. I'm pretty sure it isn't the keysense that is preventing the keyless to work, it is the ignition wire being energized. You do need to hook up the keysense wire to the status output from the alarm. Otherwise your factory alarm would be set off upon remote start. You will also need to diode isolate the keysense away from the bypass module. Some alarms allow you to unlock prior to remote start which would be a solution, but then your vehicle would be unlocked while running. It's a much better solution to use the keysense.

I've never been able to get Toyota factory keyless to work during remote start, even on cars with no alarm, and therefore the keysense wire not connected.

I spent some time playing around with a Sienna minivan with no luck.

In the case of the Sienna, it was the Ignition 2 wire in the ignition harness that was keeping the keyless from working. I think that wire goes right from the key cylinder to the BCM/fuse box. If you disconnect the remote starter's Ignition 2 from the wire in the car, the engine still remote starts, but with a whole bunch of warning lights, and the climate controls don't come on either.

ADS (idatalink.com) has some new firmware that they say will allow the factory keyless to work while remote started, but I don't know if they make it for your GX470, and I haven't tried it yet.

I just did a GX470 the other day and we connected locks from the aftermarket remote starter.

Thanks guys, that last post regarding tge Sienna has me wondering a bit.  If I could figure out/isolate (buy a wiring diagram) what disables the factory keyless (perhaps from the BECM?), there are of course plenty of spare outputs on the Python that I could use to directly or through relay and/or diode isolation drive the factory keyless while the remote start is running.  Should be easy enough, IF I could figure out how Toyota disables it.  For the momen't I'll hook up the locks to the Python.

Separate but related then, do I need the Python (this is just 4203P remote start, not an alarm per se) alarm arm/disarm connections attached to anything?  Works fine and I don't have anything attached at the moment.  I'm a bit unsure what/if the factory "alarm" on this vehicle does except for flash a little LED on the dash, and nothing seems hindered by how it is now, until my wife is sitting somewhere the first time of course and the thing starts blowing the horn uncontrollably or something.
