Got a new Viper 5901 for about a month now and I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, I just accidentally dropped my 2-way remote control on a ground yesterday and the back lid of it popped out but not fully off. So I just pushed it back to close it. Tested OK, everything seems to work great except that the siren response sounds really soft (I can't bearly hear it) at all to when I arm, disarm and worst of all, no sound when alarm goes off. It appears that the brain went into the Silent Mode 2 after it got dropped. I did try to restore the "Confirmation Chirps" feature to default, i.e. On w/Warn Chirps On, but it still didn't work. Tried my 1-way control too, same results.

I'm not sure where to go next to get out of this mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Silent mode 2? Sounds like a faulty siren issue to me!

Having a similar problem. How did you solve it?

If the internal speaker on the remote control is not working, return it to the dealer and DEI will warranty it.

Are you referring to the siren in the car or the sound the remote makes which mimics the siren?

The problem was with the siren in the car. However I found the solution. I needed to re-configure it again using the "Feature Instructions".

regarding this topic,   are there any silicone protective sleeves available for LC3 remote (?)

actually i keep mine attached to my trousers not the car keys, but still it would be nice to have some protection even against the scratches or dust what can collect between the buttons.

i have seen people with a leather/plastic case, but its bulky.

If you dont mind then im sure you can find it on ebay for less than 15 bucks.

yes its bulky, and protects the remote alright, but the remote isn't that slick and light anymore. I wish there was a silicone sleeve, if anyone finds one please let me know. thanks.
