This is tough to figure where to start.  So from the beginning.  I like DIY.  Researched putting a Viper 5901 (XK04 Bypass) into my son's 2006 Mustang GT after losing an AVIC Stereo system.  I looked here and a few other sites for wiring diagrams.  I Wish I had dug deeper on this site to begin with but I didn’t know what all was here (excellent info).  Well 1 week ago we made the attempt to install the system.  I figure the best way to get help is to show what we did (Below).  Now the result of my original hookup is a car with no power at the igntion.  This no power problem extends to all engine fuses in the BEC fuse box under the hood.  I removed all the Remote Start and returned the wires to the original state with Solder.  Still nothing.  So I'm asking for any suggestions as to what I have blown up???   Then possibly how to fix and complete the task.  I hate to admit defeat and take to the qualified professionals but I will need the car in a few days.

As you can see, the fourth column is how I hooked up the first try.  The fifth column is what I think I should do after I fix the no power issue.

I want to Clarify for the Rookies out there. This hookup did NOT work! If we solve it all, I'll post the working wiring at a later date.

When you say that this hookup does not work, be more specific. Does the ignition circuit turn on? Do the warning lights go on in the cluster? Does it attempt to crank? if so does the Security light flash quickly? Did you program the XK-04 properly? Also THE INDIVIDUAL DOOR PINS REST AT GROUND AND GO TO AN OPEN CIRCUIT WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED-FYI

Did you check ALL the fuses in the car? If not, get to it :)

As other people have said, what works? Isolate what doesn't and trace it back to the fuses. Bet you either blown the main ignition fuse or there's a plug there that's not quite done up. On the XK04, either of your status output wires should have worked. Green not violet for door trigger, also needs to be programmed as open circuit trigger, or there's a DEI converter available.
When will people realise that these are NOT DIY jobs.

They never will realize that its not a DIY. I don't think they understand that even installers call each other for advise when working on cars. Let alone the vast tech support we have access to. I do like that people are interested in doing it but I wish they would find a shop that would either help them or find an installer that will do the job at their location to help. Everyone here is great.

A small anecdote to add to the dkouri80 post which is very well put.
About a year ago I had to do a (UK) Cat 1 alarm an R/S in an 04 Ram truck. Fine but they are about as rare as Rocking Horse droppings over here, anyway on my clipboard were Directwire, Avox and from this site.
On a UK Cat 1, you cut both ignition AND starter.
Guess what...none gave me the right colour for ignition 1 and I ended up with the engine stop light staying on till I shoved a scanner up the OBD ll socket.
Most DIY people fail on the following:
Poor preparation and failure to read the instructions and programming notes thoroughly.
Failure to test at every stage. Which was probably the problem our first poster had. Do you know I do the by-pass first, then try and hot wire every vehicle.
Failure to set tach.
Failure to understand by-passes.
Failure to get their heads around door locking systems and door light triggers inc. dome lights. How many people realise that if the dome light comes on with unlock, e.g. BMW Honda etc. etc. supervision isn't required.
Failure to understand the reasoning behind relays and diodes.
Lack of the right tools, note my scanner comment above.

Ok, I'm still at work but I want to clarify.  I have checked all fuses (whole car) at least three if not four times visually and with a meter.  I have pulled the Relays and checked them also.  When all was hooked up the security light on the dash flashed and there was no power to the switch/ignition circuit.  No warning lights.  No Crank.  Could not get the XK04 to program pressumably because of no power to the ignition.  

Oh they realize it's not DIY after starting I'm sure.  The engineer  (Thats ME not EE) in me just had to try it.  Thanks for the Green not Violet on the door Howie I was still contemplating that as you see.  I was also going to now do the in depth testing on what doors I have etc.  But the main question is the power problem.  I ran power straight from the battery to the alarm sytsem and got  some response, although with many wrong hookups not stellar response.  Still with no power to the ignition harness nothing resembles starting.  On testing the fuses I get what looks to be a short to ground on the reading.  The problem is definitely in all fuses dealing with engine or starter (No Power).  Could there be a problem in the PCM?  I have studied the wiring diagrams and troublshooting in AllData until I am Brain Dead.  Surely in the past someone made a blunder and fried the same system I have.  Thanks for you help.

By the way Howie I think I get about a 90% on the reasons DIY people fail.  But I am studying hard to decrease that number.  My scanner failed last week before this effort so it has been Zero help in this endeavor (I was hoping for it to clear any fault).

For those who are interested.  After reading my online tech manual and wiring diagrams which make up a small notebook now, I was probing various wires and fuses for the millionth time when I discovered a wiring harness to the SJB that looked plugged in but was not. All of the sudden we have ignition.  I will attempt to finish the project again tomorrow.  With the wealth of knowledge gathered from this site expect to be successful.  I'll let you know.

In the nicest possible way, and no reflection on you because hands up those of us who HAVEN'T boxed everything up to find something silly not working, I'm just patting myself on the back when I say "I TOLD YOU SO"! posted_image At the end of the day, my face is as dirty as my hands from looking up into the dash to either mount things or check plugs.
Heater controls on Toyota Supras and Mazda RX8s are prime candidates. You should hear a slight click as the plug locks home.
