hello i have installed a remote start viper 5101 on a 2006 saturn vue,

i installed everything from what i can see was the correct way, i tested when i was done, door locks work, lock and unlock

corner lights worked, i whent to start the unit and all i got was 8 flashes. so i rechecked everything again, still 8 flashes (note i have the key in the igniton so i can test then i was going to put the moudle in)

after checking several times i find that there is a red wire and a red and white wire from remote start that was not sure i needed. so i hooked them up to the orange wire on harness that has 12volts all the time. i then tired again and it starts and shutts down??? brake pedal is working i can shutt down the unit once i hit the pedal so i doesnt keep trying over and over.........help

What does 8 flashes mean in the diagnostics section of your install manual...starting and shutting off usually has to do with the the tach/tachless not being learned properly or not changed in the programming to correct setting...!
