I am attempting to install a remote start on an 04 Cadillac CTS.  Install is all done with the exception of the Tach wire.  The diagrams that I have read say that it is on the ECM.  Most say connector 2 pin 35 and that the wire should be white.  I believe I have found what would be considered the ECM, as it is on the right front of the valve cover.  It has two connectors, but they are not like any I have ever seen.  They have a lock on them and really don't look like something I have normally seen on a GM.  I opened both wiring harnesses and have found a total of 3 white wires between them.  Tested all three-no tach.  Does anyone have any better description or a picture that they could post with a better explaination?  I have put in a lot of starters, but this one totally has me stumped.  Thanks!

Use the search function and search 03 Cts in the subject topic.  The original poster will be dasbogie.  Open that thread and part way down, a very kind 12volt user posted a great pic for me of this tach wire.  Hopefully it helps you.

I looked at the picture and was indeed in the right place.  I thought I went through every wire in that harness at least 3 times, but I guess I will have to tear into it again and look a 4th time.  At first glance this car doesn't look all that difficult, but has definitely given me my share of headaches.

When I did mine getting the tach wire was the hardest part.  I used XK01 though, that takes care of alot.  One of these days in the spring or summer I'm going to tear back into it and hook up the heated seats to aux's so I can turn them on along with the r/s.

Yeah, I used the DLBP, never really had issues with the tach wire before this one.  If I did, I could always get to the back of the cluster or an injector.  However, tried the cluster, took out the only 2 bolts that I could find and it was still solid as a rock, the injectors are nowhere to be seen, so I really felt defeated.  I guess the other option is to order a GM1 and then it will pick up the info from the data wire.  The DLBP is normally a standby that gets me what I need, but I guess if I use the GM1 I won't have to hook up the seats or mirrors as it is supposed to do that too.  I just didn't want to make him wait for me to get one.
