Hi,

Has anyone had experience installing aftermarket remote start to the new 2010 mazda6 with push button start?

Apparently, the factory remote start unit works as follows:

1.) Push keyfob to remote start car
2.) Car engine starts
3.) Unlock car with keyfob
4.) open doors

5.) Engine Turns OFF.

The dealer claims that this is a safety feature.

Does an aftermarket remote start experience the same behavior?

Could someone please recommend compatible bypass modules and pager alarm systems.

In addition, it would be great to keep most of the stock functionality of the original keyfob ie - walk towards doors, and doors automatically unlock.

Thank you.

The idatalink bypass module ( ADS AL CA flashed with ADA AL(DL)-MA firmare ) allows take-over during the remote start run time without engine shutdown on door opening.  Here is their procedure:

Important : “Push to Start” vehicles have a maximum take over time of 45 seconds.
For security reasons, during the remote starter runtime, the driver must press
the unlock button of the remote starter fob to trigger a 45 seconds time window
which will permit him/her to step into the vehicle and press the brake pedal to
complete take over.

Here is a link to the iDatalink site :  https://www.idatalink.com/helpdesk/  You can look up your car and download the Install Guide for more details.

I forgot to mention another feature that would be excellent.

I have the 2010 Mazda 6 with push button start.

Is there an alarm system that can copy the rfid contained within the remote so I dont have to carry 2 key fobs around?

As i understand it, any aftermarket alarm i install, i'll end up having to carry the stock keyfob to retain push button start abilities.

Thank you.
