HI all, have just got a new turbo timer that i need to fit to my car, the car has a clifford alarm.
so i know it wont be plug and play,

it has 3 wires on it that would normally go to the ignition key switch my understanding is this now needs to go after the clifford and before the car electronics can anyone confirm

Would have been much easier to use an aux output from the alarm and a single relay, simpler to wire, more efficient and no ugly box to fit.

unfortunately all the Aux outputs are already in use for various other features on the car.

the HKS turbo timer is quite sexy looking and have a new home for this in the custom dash that's being made over Christmas so just need to wire it in

I have a feeling you're posting from the UK; is this a G4 or G5 Cat l?
It would have been helpful to have given the car and the alarm, if you do I'll give you the details of what to do.

You will need a standard Bosch type 5 pin relay and a 1N4004 diode.
Cut alarm's (650 ll?) black IGN side wire, then;
Ignition output from turbo timer to 86.
Diode from 86 to 87a with band towards 86.
Key side of cut wire to 87a.
12volt + constant supply, fused at 30amps to 87.
Ground (earth) to 85.
Other (IGN) side of cut wire to 30.
Dead easy, if you've any problems I can do this for you (NOT FREE!) if you're in the London area.

If you followed my original wiring you could.

Could it be that once I turn the ignition off I have to open a door before I can arm it ?

You have to set it up with the engine still running. Look in your owner's manual.

thanks for that but that hasn't helped. i will go look in the owners manual, guessing what you are saying is i have to activate a setting to enable me to arm the car with the engine running right ?

for reference when i turn the car off i have to open a door for me to be able to lock the car the dash stays illuminated until i do this, this also prevents me from arming the car.

Look at how I originally posted on how to wire it, when you replied a couple of days ago you definitely didn't follow the same method and yes I agree with T&t.

sorry howie, you are correct i did not follow it exactly as you said my mistake instead of cutting the black wire from the alarm output i found where the installer had connected it to the factory loom so just un-soldered it from there and then connected the relay up as you have described between the factory wiring and the alarm (exactly the same as cutting and joining on the black wire from the alarm)

oh and yes this was a thread revival would you have rather i started a new thread about exactly the same thing i had already been discussing ?

as stated i have been working out the country for some time so this was the 1st chance i had to get round to fitting this

is200_turbo did the correct thing by not creating a new thread.  Snide remarks to the contrary are unnecessary.  Bickering is needed even less. Drop it and move on.

OK, knuckles rapped, I stand corrected. Bad football (soccer) result yesterday, we aren't going to get into the Champions League and I was in a mood.

Ok went back to double check everything to ensure it was installed as suggested which it was

however I overlooked the fact the hks turbo timer input from ign also stays live whilst the timer is running, a simple diode with band towards the factory wiring cured this I can now set the alarm whilst the turbo timer is doing it's thing
