i just installed my new viper 5902 alarm with remote start into my 2005 Mazda B2300 truck. but, ever since i installed it the remote start will activate, but either would...

1. deactivate after about a minute of run time

2. deactivate after opening a door

3. deactivate when i press the unlock button

i'm sure i wired it correctly as the car still starts fine with the key and the sensors still trigger the alarm to work

Help...

where did you get your tach signal?
Did you hook up tach?
Injector or a coil would be where i'd go.

is the alarm giving you any flashes of the parking lights when the vehicle turns off? There should be a certain number of flashes which you can check against the manual to tell you why exactly it is shutting down.

Well I ran the remote start shutdown/startup diagnostics...its giving me mostly 2 flashes (over-rev shutdown)

Alright, did you teach the alarm brain the tach signal when you did the install? Most remote start units will not function properly until they learn this signal.

hmm, usually over rev is related to the tach signal... This is what I am seeing from the wiring diagrams from this site,

On the B2500 2.5L there are 2 coils on the right side of the engine. Go to any of the TAN/stripe wires and set your remote starter for 1 cylinder,

I would try relearning the tach signal first, then if that doesnt work you can keep troubleshooting from there

alright...now a whole new set of problems arise...so i basically removed the negative and positive terminals on the battery...checked that the tach wire was attatched to a tan/white wire coming off of the distributor...started the car...held the control button (to learn the tach signal)...but instead of a steady light coming from the LCD...its flashing...and on top of that i try to use the remote start...it starts...but turns of within a few seconds...and it does that two more times and "LOW BATTERY" appears on the remote

get tach at a fuel injector.
