Hey guys, I’m new to the forum and this is my first remote start alarm install. I have gotten everything to work with regards to the security system and the remote start (MTS mode) but I have a few remaining questions that I hope you can answer and that haven’t been posted before…

1.)     I have a 520t back-up battery and whenever the engine begins to crank on remote start-up with the system armed, it trips an instant trigger and shuts the process down. Now I read that one person seemed to have this problem and added a 10k ohm resistor to the trigger line in between the BUB module and the H1/7 blue trigger wire, will this be effective?

....I believe it’s the drop in voltage that is setting off the module to think the battery is unplugged. I have a new optima Yellow top battery fully charged. i get 12.6v at rest, 14.4v charging and 10.4-ish Volts when cranking. I have disconnected the trigger wire from the BUB and everything is peachy but I would like to keep this as a precaution in the future.

I have 3 Diode isolated triggers (hood, trunk, BUB instant trigger) on the 991’s H1/7 line with solid side of diode facing the alarm.

2.)     I have a relay setup to control a fuel pump kill that normally got it’s ground from me turning a keyed switch. But with MTS remote start, that obviously can’t work. initially I had the H1/12 (orange) wire (ground when armed) hooked to it but the module activates that wire whenever remote start is enabled, So I can’t use that even though I should?

My next best option is to hook it to an AUX and have to press the button (set it to latch) every time I want to activate/deactivate.

3.)     Is there any special way to adjust the 508D proximity sensor? I have a feeling that it’s always going to be causing a false alarm, if not, any other sensor suggested?

Firstly that unit  has a dedicated input for the hood, you can remove it and leave the other two inputs dioded and see what happens, me personally this has never happened to me with a BUB, and i never diode the inputs.

I'm not sure off hand if that GWA wire can be programmed,

Do not use the fuel pump kill on a normally open circuit, heck you should'nt use it on the closed circuit, we don't want the car dying in the middle of the freeway now do we,

The 508d does cause false triggers no matter how well u adjust it, however it can be set to work reasonably well. you would have to adjust until you find this setting however.

That's crap to hear that this never usually happens with the BUB, however, i took the advice of another member on this site that had this problem with his camry and soldered in a 10k Ohm resistor on the trigger line from the BUB module to slow down what the BUB thinks is someone disconnecting the battery. so that fixed the problem but i have not tested to see if disconnecting the battery throws a full trigger.

i have dioded all 4 triggers coming into the alarm's "trunk" instant trigger line (2 hood pins, trunk pin, BUB instant)

I can't even see the GWA wire working for a starter kill because when the remote start activates on the MTS sequence it activates this wire and doesn't deactivate until you hit unlock which would prevent the car from starting in the morning. So what i did is i hooked up the ground wire to my fuel kill relay to AUX one and just have it latch w/ ign reset and manually arm/disarm it that way.

I have had this circuit in the car for about 3 years now, never had a problem with it randomly activating while driving, works flawlessly, i use a sturdy keyed switch.

No probs, it's against fourum rules to advise such things as a fuel kill.
