I have a AST Ultra Start 1272 installed in a 03 Pontiac Vibe. Here's the issue; it remote starts just fine and is set for 15 minutes runtime. If you shut it down with the remote before the 15 minutes or let it "time out" it will not remote start again until you get in and hit the brake and cycle the key. Any ideas?

Any Parking Light error blinks when you attempt the second remote start?  The bottom of page 26 in the install guide details how to get into diagnostics memory and review the last 4 shutdown codes.

Sounds like a good place to start. I will check the number of flashes and report my findings.

Alright now I'm frustrated. I checked to see what error was being thrown with the parking light flashes and I get 8 which means 3 attempts without starting (it does start and tach is learned correctly). If you take it for a drive around the block it will start correctly but.....I have it programmed for 45 minutes (I triple checked that I had this set) of runtime and it shuts off anywhere between 4-10 minutes? Maybe I have a bad brain? Any thoughts?

Did you connect the U1272s' heavy White wire to the cars' IGN2 wire( BLACK / YELLOW)?  Are you running inTach Mode?

You could try a Factory Reset on the U1272.  It won't loose the remotes or the Selectable White IGN2 programming, but it will loose all other programming & you will need to re-Learn the Tach signal.  That should happen automatically on the first key start-up after the Factory Reset.

Thanks Kreg. I rechecked the tach wire and found it to be a weak signal. I went right to the ignition coil which I should have done in the first place. Everything works perfect now. Thanks again for your help!
