I found this under the steering column on our 2004 Mountaineer. We have no remote's to use for it but would like to order some. DEI says it is not theirs as does Bulldog Security. It has a serial number: 021010827430 and from what I can read the FCC id: Q9EWMP100 but that may be wrong as the label is faded. Pics

Even if I could get a wiring diagram for it I'd just replace it by hacking the connector off and wiring it to a different unit but I would prefer to just get a couple remotes. Thanks guys!!!

Does it plug in to any other modules? Looks like an audiovox unit to me.

Being that there are only five wires in the connector, I would have to say its nothing more than a starter kill. A remote start would have at least 7 wires if not more like 20. Also if it were a remote start there would also be a bypass module in there somewhere.

that is a gps based kill switch, banks have them installed on high credit risk customers so if theyre late on their payment they can disable the car from starting and can then locate it via gps

you can remove it as long as it wasnt installed by the bank you financed with! it will have a relay up at the ign switch which kills the starter circuit for non payment, power and ground, but if your bank had it installed and you remove it before your term is up it violates your agreement with them and they can cancel loan
