I have a 2011 Sonata (w/Push To Start Ignition) with a Viper 5301 R/S & DBall bypass module along with a Smart-Start module. I don't use the Viper FOB, I use a double pulse on the factory door locks to engage the R/S or the Smart-Start module. The problem I am having when I open the door it shuts off the remote start. the dash display shows "no key detected" and the car shuts off. If I leave the door open I am able to just get in the car and drive away without a problem. I know it is a programing feature issue with the 5301 but I am unsure which feature will control that. Anyone??

Its not a programming thing on the 5301. Its a feature called "Run Safe" from the DBALL. The details about it are on page 10 in the DBALL manual. You should be able to takeover when you press unlock.

humm,
In my manual it states that Run Safe will not allow the remote start to engage if the doors are open. My car is able to remote start if the doors are open. But it also states it will shut down if the if an attempt is made to enter the vehicle without pressing unlock on the RS.
Can this Run Safe be bypassed or turned off?
