i have a 2002 chevy malibu. installed is a valet 562T remote starter. it will not start. i go to remote start my car and it will turn over once but wont start. then when i go to start my car with the key it just turns over, does not start. then i have to turn the key to the on position for ten minutes and let the theft system light blink to reset sumthing. when i bought the car in june the sales man remote started the car then shut it off and i tried remote starting it and it wouldnt start, it did what i just explained and i havnt been able to remote start it since. i have look at wiring diagrams and the user guide but dont really understand it and dont have the money to take it in. i have looked all over in my car under the dash for the switch and i can not find it. also there is no led light that blinks and the horn doesnt honk when doors are lock. is there a place i can look that has my remote starter model hooked up in my car. ive looked all over the net and its either my model in another car or my car and a different remote starter. i would like to fix this if i can and save some money. any help would be very much appreciated. thank you

the valet/program switch and the led light are not pluged into the valet box, could that be the reason my car doesnt start with the remote start. can i buy any led light and push button switch and hook it up or do i have to buy a certain light and puch button switch for my system

I'm guessing that you did not install this system and that at one time it worked.

You car is going into Passlock2 long tamper mode when you try to remote start it.  Apparently there is something wrong with the Passlock2 bypass module that was used with the 562T to allow a remote start of the car.

There is a lot of info to research / learn about a 562T remote start system and bypass module.  There are many bypass modules available for that vehicle besides the "relays & resistor" bypass method.

Here is a link to the 562T Install guide  :  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=538   It is generic and not specific to your 2002 Malibu and it's wiring requirements but will give you some info on it's' operation.

Here is a link to a common bypass module for Passlock2  :  https://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=41  This might not be the actual module that was used on your car but it does have the info about the short and long tamper modes.

My advise would be to review the guides, inspect your vehicle and the wiring connections.  If it is too involved, bring it to a professional shop.

Don't think the 562T valet switch or programming button is the problem.  Not familiar with the Valet 562T at all.  If the car was sold with the remote start system and it is a recent purchase, maybe the salesman / dealership might be willing to get it working under warranty and train you on its' functions & use.

Is it possible you need a double pulse to remote start?  Pressing the button twice or even three times.

Have you tried installing a fresh battery in the remote, just to eliminate that as a possible issue.
