I have installed a prostart ct-3100 autostart in a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix. It works good except when the engine turns off, either by touching the brake or by time out, the doors unlock. Can I do something to prevent this.

Thanks

Sounds to me that you alarm may be programmed to unlock the doors when the engine stops. On my alarm/start system I can program them to lock at start, maybe yours unlocks automatically. Just a suggestion.

program the alarm to lock after remote start turn off, instead of unlock after remote start turn off. Most of the alarms offer two steps. lock before start, and unlock after remote start, make sure you program it both before and after starting to "lock". Take it easy

Thanks for the suggestions. The car doesn't have an alarm, but the doors unlock automatically when the key is turned off. Maybe I can somehow bypass this.

Thank again

If anyone else has this problem I figured out a fix, sort of. I connected the re-arm wire from the module to the lock relay. I used two diodes to prevent a pulse going to the module also. After time out or remote shutdown it gives a 1 sec pulse 4 seconds after shutdown.

Thanks for replying back.

You have ignition controlled door locks. Try the dealer and ask if they can remove this option from the keyless entry module and make sure that the feature is turned off on the ProStart.

Thank You Jeff

And I would not have been able to get the unit working if not for your site.
