Both myself and a certified installer tried to install a viper 5301 with the xpresskit db-all bypass module. It is a refurbished viper module. Neither one of us were able to get the viper module to power on. Checked all connections with a volt meter and its all connected correctly. Is there a way I can test the module to see if I got dead on arrival?

At the plug end of the H1 harness, do you have 12 volts showing on the H1/2 wire, and will it ground out through the H1/5 Black wire?  Can your installer take it to his shop or a local shop to bench test it against a known good unit wiring?

If you want to mail it to me for testing, I'll be glad to check it out on the bench.

Yes it does read 12volts at the plug and i tested it by putting the black prob on the volt meter on H1/5. i talked to the person on that i bought it off on ebay and he is going to let me send it back and he will send me another one so i'm gonna do that and then see how i make out.
