remote start on 2008 hummer h3

Im going to do an remote start install on my friends 08 hummer h3 which is an manual transmission. first which bypass works well when installed, the xk06
or xk09 bypass? also how do I do the clutch integration since it a manual? thanks

I prefer the idatalink bypasses with the newer GM's. They seem to do a little better integration. As far as the clutch integration, look for the clutch switch at the clutch pedal. There will usually be 2 switches... one activates as soon as the clutch starts to be engaged that is used for the cruise control; and the other activates when the clutch is fully engaged. That is the switch you want. Test the wires on the connector to see if it is a ground or 12v+ signal. **Make sure to test this wire throughout the ignition sequence (acc, ignition, and start) to make sure it does not change during the start sequence. Then use a relay powered off your status output or starter wire to send the proper signal to the switched side of the connector.

Edit: If I remember correctly, the ADS-ALSL GM from idatalink does not require programming... but I would get verification first.

I think im going to go with the xpresskit module because I already had the firmware loader that I hook up to the labtop. also when looking at the xk09 bypass install guide, it does not show trunk,doors,dome light and ect. I think Im going to install it just using relays and resistors instead of the bypass since I still would have to wire all the doors trunk up anyways. is there a diagram anywhere for this? I've only done installs using bypasses.

thanks, Has anybody done the hummers without issues with using the bypass?how much more time consuming is this way? I think If I use a bypass, I still may have to hook up all the car wires to the remote starter is this true?

I believe it's just a Colorado Passlock2 immobilizer.  Here is a link to the relays & resistor method  :

Does the Hummer have a Factory Alarm?  A full featured bypass might be the best / only way to go.

I have used iDatalink bypass modules ( ADS DL flashed with ADS DL GM4 firmware ) on Colorado's.  Worked flawlessly.

oh okay, I have the xkloader for the xpresskits. I think If I use the expresskits xk09 I still would have to hook up all the car wires. I dont have the loader for the idatdalink. I would have to by that

Yes, the XK09 only does the bypass function.  All the other wires would have to be run.  There is a pre-loaded iDatalink bypass module available for the H3.  Check out the ADS ALSL GM module at :  https://store.idatalink.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=141

I did two 2007 H3 Hummers last winter with Avital 4103LX units with the Idatalink ADS-ALSL GM bypasses connected W2W. Everything worked great for two days. And then the customers called me (mother and daughter) and stated each truck went into tamper lockout. I thought bad connection so I redid everything but still the same problem. Recently, Idatalink has updated their website to state the relay and resistor method work best on the H3 models. 2007-2009 are the same setup. I would strongly recommend the relay and resistor method. The trucks have been remote starting great since. Good Luck on your install!!

H3, Colorado & Canyon 2008-2009-2010 Passlock Tamper Mode: Please read the following before installing.

Passlock is not covered by the module on these vehicles because the BCM doesn't adapt well to external passlock modules.

Vehicle BCM internal power fluctuation which occurs in many different circumstances negatively affects external passlock bypass reliability. When such fluctuation occurs the risks the vehicle going in tamper mode during remote start are high. The bypass module provides you a highly precise (±0.002v) passlock value, the module will not fluctuate when the BCM does which can result on the BCM and module not being on the same comparison scale. If such situation occur the vehicle will probably go in tamper mode.

The IPC reference wire must be used as the sole Passlock reference in these vehicles to avoid Tamper Mode.

We recommend using relays and very accurate resistors on these specific Models/Years. (the Module will still take care of the PK3 immobilizer, OEM alarm and doorlocks).

Agreed Idatalink software for the h3 / colorado/ canyon blows I've had all kinds Of issues even called them once and the tech told me that they pretty much gave up on it since its only 3 cars. But there are some ancient Chinese secrets you can do to get it work!
