I installed a DEI Hornet 570t in my dad's 2000 GMC Sierra. I also installed a XpressKit PLJX bypass module. The PLJX seems to program successfully. I press and hold the program button, turn the key to on, the LED flashes rapidly then turns out signalling it has program successfully.   The 570T is set and successfully programmed for Tach mode with the source being the tachometer wire behind the gauge cluster. When I remote start it cranks over and seems to run for 1 second then shuts off, the remote starts continues to crank. I thought it was the bypass. So I inserted the key into the ignition, turned it to on and tried to remote start. Same thing, runs for a second, then shuts off and RS continues to crank. With the key in and on, it should not need the bypass module. Wiring has all been verified. Do I have a bad module/brain?

Any ideas?

you most likely have the acc and ignition wires mixed up.

If I did have those 2 wires mixed up?
Even if this is the case, wouldn't it stay running with the key to the ON position?

start the trunk with the key, press start on the hornet and see if you can enter pit mode stop.

if you can, its time to recheck your wiring. you might have a bad unit if it continues to crank.

If it is continuing to crank then I'm thinking that it is not sensing the engine running. Try changing it temporarily to voltage sensing or no engine sensing and turn the crank time to 1.0 and see what happens.

Could be a Passlock2 problem.  Maybe you're in Long Tamper Mode.  That shuts off fuel delivery.   Any "Security" lights on the dash?

Where do you have the PLJX Brown wire connected?  Should go to 570T Blue (-) 200mA Status Output.

Soldering is fun!

I will try pitstop mode and see what happens. I will also double check all wiring to the vehicle.

I did try voltage sensing as I though the same thing, that it didnt see it was running so it kept cranking. This is not what happens though. It starts for a split second but does not stay running.

I will post back with what I find out.

If it were in Long Tamper Mode, the truck wouldn't run with the key would it? It starts right up with the key after a failed remote start attempt.

I just found in a DEI 555 install manual that it will not start even with a key if it went into Long Tamper Mode. So this is not the case, I can start it with the key, even after failed remote start attempts.

So when it starts and then shuts off, is the starter still cranking or does it stop cranking?

Sounds like two issues. One being a tach issue and the other a passlock 2 issue. Try the ECM under the hood for the tach. Its on the driver fender, white plug (it's labeled), white wire. Use a jumper wire before you make anything permanent. I've had tach signals that have programmed before but for some reason the remote start didn't like the signal. For the Passlock 2, from the PLJX, make sure the blue wire is connected to the Yellow passlock wire and the Black wire is connected to the ORANGE / black passlock ground wire in the vehicle (NOT TO THE CHASSIS).

Starter keeps cranking.
I will check the PLJX wiring as noted.
