I could be a moron....I went through 1100 posts here is what I dont get....

Installing OEM/Factory remote starter on 2009 escape XLT. has auto headlamp feature...and foglights .....looking at the whole box seems easy but reading forums confuses...

Everything is plug and play except few

Precisely where do I locate tach, door lock/unlock park break wirings in the dash/kick panel diagrams available are either for 2010 or for 2008 it appears there is some difference...in either case when I open the kick panel/dash/center console, I can confirm if vehicle wiring matches to 08 0r 10...

1. Tach /tach sensor.... Where do I connect it to...fuel injector....??? which wire.....

2. Parking ...Forums suggest to inlcude 2 relays(I have auto headlamps) one at headlight and other at parking light.......do I have to run wire from battery to 12V constant..(86 on relay).....for this... and where do I inlcude the relay for headlight.....

3. From remote starter harness... "Active out" where does this wire go to...

Please pardon my ignorance....I am a fine arts person...moron prrof instructions are appreciated

Thanks

I would imagine that the "Active Out" is the same as the Ground While Running wire of aftermarket units.  This wire usually triggers a relay to illuminate the parking lights so you can see that the vehicle is running.

I am skeptic however,,,because there is a defined deisgnated....black wire for ground....

The black wire is ground. The Active out is grounded only when the unit is under a remote start situation. Use a meter to verify.

car has one bump start so tach isnt needed( in fact ford recommends not hooking it up) active out i believe is the ground when running for your bypass pk lights is a purple white + under dr sill plate back bythe dr seat in a harness coming out from under seat be sure to test as thwere are a few purple whites in there

Sounds Good, Can you tell me about the suggested relay on parking lamp wires (I repeat I have autolamp). do I need a 12V constant....Any clue...

I've done tons of those systems and never used a relay just use the purple /white as Jim suggested    I'm assuming its a ford system ? box says type A on it ? 2 single button remotes ? If it is everything its in the drivers kick panel

i too hve done a tone of them and never used the relay im guessing maybe this recommendation for relay was issued based on if you try to fire up lights from the switch( which even though youll find a wire that tests as pk lites there if you wire it there it will fry the switch circuit board) i have always gotten this wire under the sill and never had a problem cant say for sure how manyhad auto lights but i know some or at least one of them had to

jim hunter and chev104275
Thanks!. Yes, it is a ford system with with type A harness. While I went on reading forums, there are instances where they suggest, "if you have autolamps" you must use 2 relays one at PK and other at Headlight.....
which is what concerned me.
I have opened the drivers kick panel and the steering columns now and job will be done soon. Though it appears simple, I will post my experiences once done......
Thanks again for your input

remember the purple /white pk lights wire is under the sill plate back by the dr seat as the wire comes from under the seat and heads to the rear and make sure to meter wire as there are many purp/whites in there it is a + when pk lites are on

Alright guys....I did it...the parking wire is confusing because it is somewhat brownish purple.....I followed the wire from the tail light(!!) to confirm...at the end, it works well and I have tachless mode......simple and a moron like me could do it...
