Up here in the great white north, our insurance company makes it mandatory to install aftermarket immobolizers in certain makes and models.

These immobolizers work with a transponder keytag and a loop placed around the ignition.
No Tag, No Start.

From what i have gathered the aftermarket immobolizer disables both the fuel pump and the starter.

I have been told that you can bypass this for remotestart purposes with relays, but i dont know much more than that.

Anyone firmilliar with these and could provide assistance in how to bypass this so i can use a remote start.

Thanks in advance.

My assumption is that the immobilizer system uses relays to disable the fuel pump and the starter. If you can duplicate the signal (+/-) that activates these relays, you can then use the ground when running output of the remote starter to activate that relays to reconnect the vehicle.

If you have any type of diagram or rough idea of how the immobilizers work, please post it so we can get a better understanding.

Unfortunately I don't have any type of diagram.

I'm going at this one completely blind. I located the immobolizer unit. But there is nothing written on the casing.

Sorry I can't provide anymore info at the moment. Ill tear into it later and see what info I can find.

Hmmm maybe they should sell the English market Clifford G5 Cat 1 with twin immobiliser circuits, you then throw away that immobiliser.
In fact the US market G5 Avantguard 5.1 is effectively the same as the English 5.5 but with active rather than passive immobilisation, though you can change that.
Trouble is you probably have jobsworthys who won't allow it.

Just another but worrying thought, if you don't know how to by-pass these with relays from the R/S GWR wire, then are you competent enough to do these installs?

Unfortunately i was not born knowing everything like you were.

I have done several r/s installs but have never had this issue thrown my way.

I turned to the experts for assistance, not ridicule.

I appreciate the help from all the members on the forum, but do not appreciate being ridiculed for asking for assistance.

Sooo easy, here you go, by the way I wasn't born that way, I just understand what you're trying to do and how to achieve an answer which took about 30 seconds to think out which is why I earn US$ 240 per day:-immob_bypass.bmp
Don't forget the 2 diodes, ign1 = live during cranking,
now here's an even easier method.
With the starter cut just take your R/S starter output to the starter side of the immobiliser:-8A3_immob_bypass.bmp
