Can a DEI 508d proximity sensor be successfully connected and operated with a Viper 5904, Responder, 2 way alarm?

Yes but draw 12V+ red and ground from your 5904 feed wires, I don't know how it would show on your remote.

How does it display on you remote, mine shows sensor not proximity.

You still plug into the right hand of the two ports but you need a Bitwriter to make it say "Field Effect Sensor".

Ok, thanks so much. Just got the Bitwriter, sure comes in handy.

Howie,
Here's the plug location. At least I'm pretty sure it's a 4 wire. Anyhow I changed the icon
to Proximity on zone 4 with the Bitwriter and viola.
I just wondering if this microwave is on all the time, judging by the post I've read, it is.
I just don't want to loose any more brain cells than necessary. I would like your opinion on it though.
btw - thanks for info

Been plugging both into those two mux sockets for over a year now 3 plus a week no problems.
If it worries you, join the black ground lead to your orange armed output, then they will only power up when armed. Note no more than one sensor though (508d).

Test before boxing up.

I guess it doesn't bother me, there's more radio waves floating around than I care to think about though. Cell phones, microwaves, bluetooth, am/fm,satellites even my tires are sending
tps signals. So i'm leaving well enough alone here.

thanks
jj

Funny that occurred to me as I was writing up my last post so X 2.

Anybody know why I am getting low battery alerts from my Smart Start APP? I know the battery is not low. I have the app set to alert me for low battery and only seems to happen
if I get a couple of sensor alerts. Can't find anything on it here.

Let me see if I can answer my own question here.
12.4 at rest
13.4 running
.40 mA parasitic draw

solution
turn off low battery warning in app, guessing it doesn't work so well.
