Diesel engine. Installed a Avital 5303L remote start only (no alarm sensors or siren) used a DBALL with T harness as a bypass. 15 second wait to start setting. It works flawless except the customer reports the factory alarm triggers once and awhile during remote start. I havent been able to duplicate the problem but am wondering if any of you gurus have heard of this issue.

From what I read, when that happens you need to unlock the doors(thus disarming the factory alarm) before remote start. Then relock after the car is started. This can be accomplished by connecting the disarm wire with the unlock wire. Then to relock you can either use the - starter output or the rearm wire connected with the lock wire. No other way around this when this happens.

Fixed! Sort of. The customer is using his factory remote to lock his doors and then pressing and HOLDING the start button to remote start. When he presses and HOLDS the start button the factory alarm sounds.....but only when the above conditions are met, resulting in the intermittent nature of the issue....pass it on lol

Well the aftermarket panic option is initiated by holding the lock button which activates the aftermarket alarm. It seems that the factory panic can be initiated by holding the start button while the factory system is armed only. Obviously its not noted in the Avital manual......
