Hey guys I just bought an 05 yukon Denali with a clifford +1 alarm and was wondering if I can add a remote start to it. If not I was thinking it should be pretty simple to replace the alarm right at the box by connectng wire to wire(ex +lock to +lock). And just do the renter start wiring on top of that. What do you guys think?

You can definitely keep the current alarm and add a remote starter to it.

There are add-on units like the Crimestopper RS00-G3 or Avital 4003. They have a trigger wire that is connected from the alarm's aux channel.

The Clifford has a WHITE/ blue (channel 3) wire that would connect to the remote starter to activate it via your current Clifford remote.

You will need a bypass module for the remote starter to work.
iDatalink and Fortin make great modules. The iDatalinks usually need programming before using them.

Looking at the avital 4003 would I be able to add that to my wife's stock 04 toyota 4runner with a module as well? To keep her factory remotes. I haven't ever messed with the starter modules before but hey look fairly simple, am I right in assuming that?

I'm gona order the 4003 for the Denali and install it sometime over the winter, I have to go through the menu for the clifford since car toys turned off the dome light with the alarm. It's annoying at night lol. Thanks man.

Yes you can add the 4003 to any vehicle and use the factory remotes to engage it.

The modules are needed on most cars and the installation is fairly simple.

The dome light doesn't have to be activated, it's a wire that needs to be connected. It's the BLACK/ white (negative polarity) wire from the Clifford alarm. You will need a relay to install it on the Denali.

On the Denali -
Dome Supervision gray/black     +     BCM, black plug, pin E
The BCM (Body Control Module) is under the driver dash. It has 6 plugs, the purple plug is on the back.

When using the factory remotes to activate a add-on remote start you will connect to the lock wire with the WHITE/ blue (-) activation input. Will need to convert the positive lock to neg with a relay, then set the starter to 2 or 3 pulses to activate remote start.

Is there a write up or diagram for this?
