wondered if anyone knows how to get the chirps back on a concept 600, i have checked the grid settings to confirm that loud chirps are activated, i have also checked the back up battery in the siren which holds charge at 8.4v so i know that that is not the problem as the battery pack is good, the siren warns on door ajar and sounds normally if the alarm is set off, also sounds on proximity

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Waterlogged interior to siren, internal batteries have failed (N.B. should be 6.3 on charge).

Or the low voltage siren driver on the 600 has failed (must be about 10 years old?) only real way to find out is to substitute another siren.
You can test the red and black leads, not the trigger or charging they are data.

thanks for the relply, i have substituted for a known good siren and its just the same, i have also tried the siren from the 600 on another vehicle and all works as it should do, i am very puzzled with this one, i am wondering if it could be the clifford brain itself?

Then yes you are right. I think that brain used a power transistor to run the siren but unfortunately the old Clifford crew including Len the repair man have long departed, good luck with the new importers.

Bloody shame actually, the 500 and 600 (basis of the AG IV) G4 were the best quality units ever made.

yes i agree as this one has done very well, not one false alarm and has saved the car a few times, the 600 will stay as it is without chirps as all other functions are fine and its not worth changing it.

Might be worth trying the yellow wire on the 24 pin connector, via relay to a second siren, I've done that on my 300 (I have 4 of the damn things, NONE will drive a siren!) to drive a mini piezo for the chirps.

its confirmed that the brain was definately at fault, managed to get another 600 brain to swap and hey presto all working again
