If I'm running a wire directly from the battery for the +12 volt supply to a remote start/bypass install, is there a rule of thumb about what guage wire to use? Supplying two feeds to the r/s unit and a single to the bypass.....r/s 12V inputs are fused at 30A, should I be using a further fuse inline from the battery and, if so, what rating?  Thanks, Al

Vehicle dependant? I almost NEVER go to the battery.
Most don't have enough wire length.
On most cars the ignition switch and or fuse box supply leads are sufficient.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Sorry guys....vehicle is a 2004 Chevy Colorado, just thought it was better to run a direct power supply instead of multiple connections at the ignition switch or fusebox...thx, Al

im not sure if the wires at your ignition harness are thick wires or thin wires, but if they are thick then you dont need to run any wire to the battery. if they are thin wires at the ignition harness then you need to go to the battery but you shouldnt need anything thicker than 14 gauge or 12 gauge if the wire is low quality.

definitely add a fuse on that wire close to the battery.
