autopage rs 750 only cranks once

hi i have a 2000 grand cherokee and it came with a remote start autopage 750 and the problem its that when i press the remote start it cranks for like two seconds and sometimes the car starts fine and sometimes it just cranks and if it does not starts on the first try, it will not crank again, it only tries to start one time and the lights stay on , liked if the car was running, but its not. how can i change the amount of times this system tries to start the car from only one time to more and why the lights does not shut off , since the car its not running. again it only tries to turn it on one time. only one crank. thanks

It sounds like the system is set for a certain crank time and no tach sensing which prevents the system from knowing whether the engine is actually running. That's why it only cranks once and then leaves the lights on without the engine running.

If you connect a tach signal and program it to the remote starter, that problem should completely go away.

Setting a higher crank time with no engine sensing might get your engine to start in colder days but may over crank the starter on warmer days.

hi guys , one more problem, the rs now will either start the car and the lights stay on liked they should or will crank only one time and will not start and lights go out also, but it will not try again . i have an rs860 autopage on my other car and it tries liked three times to start the car. why this one only tries ones. i did connect the wire to the tach. how to you change this feature to try more than ones. or do you think there its a wire connected to another place that i need to remove.
