i goof and apparently thought i was calibrating the rpm thru the wizard software. kept getting the "no code" response in the rpm box. probably because the tach wire on starter is not hooked up as the install said not to if paired with alarm module. so now if i remote start i get a 2 second run time and it shuts down with no restart attempt. quick stop feature just gives me three light flashes and will not engage. i tried relearning it again the the rpm programming thru the coded switch to no avail. how can i fix this? i am using the consumer version of the wizard. is there no way to reset the engine controller back to factory defaults? the tach wire for the engine controller has been trimmed and buried away deep since the install.

The tach wire is the only one of the common wires that you must connect to the starter module NOT the alarm.
Do not ever use Wiz to program a G5 alarm, do it manually, much quicker and no glitches.

instructions said otherwise. it said if both modules are linked it was to use just the alarms tach wire. and with out the software you and basically lose some feature of the starter such as settings for min batt and temp starting variables. or thresholds for rpm runaway safety.

The instructions are wrong. I've been installing this combo and its predecessors for a good 10 years, I've got one in MY car.
Tach to Intellistart and throw away the Wiz. Never used it on a G5 after the first batch of problems about 8 years ago when G5 came out.
Frankly if you set it up correctly manually in the first place you won't need the Wiz.

well it does not look like it will get fixed then. the modules and wires are buried. and no plans on ripping out the dash assembly again yet.

Well time to revive this thread. As it turns out my rpm from the intellistart module has been hooked up the entire time like I thought I did originally. I had my thoughts wrong a couple of years ago. If I did actually glitch the idle rpm setting using the wizard software how do I fix it. I thought I tried doing it with the coded switch programming but don't think it worked. How can I fix this?

Only manually through the valet switch.

Well i got the rpm learn acknowledgement. but it still wont go. run while out of vehicle gives me three sets of flashes when initiated. and remote start gives me less less then one engine revolution before quitting. any other ideas?

Is your hood open? Or is the blu/grn wire not connected properly? Or the blk/grn wire not connected properly?

Maybe Howie II can chime in, he's the expert on alarms.
